Frequently Asked Questions

I offer therapy intensives because I believe that effective therapy isn’t bound by the standard 50-minute therapy model, and that therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all.
While weekly therapy is effective and supportive for many folx, some people benefit from time-limited, focused work. Being able to spend a longer amount of time together and do a deeper dive on a particular goal or pattern can be an incredibly effective and supportive way to find symptom relief and change.

Planning session: We schedule a 50-minute session to plan out your goals for the intensive, answer any questions you have before we start, collaborate on how to set up your personal space for the intensive, and do any emotional or embodied prep work so you feel ready.
The intensive: A three-hour session where we focus on the part, the pattern, or the pain that you are ready to work through using somatic therapy and Internal Family Systems.
The integration: The integration session is 50 minutes and takes place 1-2 weeks after your intensive. We reflect on the experience, what’s changed or shifted since the intensive, and discuss tangible ways to maintain progress and insight on what we worked on.

I get it. It sounds like a lot! And it’s really different from a standard 50-minute session. Here’s some information so that it feels less daunting:
We take breaks for food, water, movement, and biological needs throughout.
We warm up and cool down: We create a lot of spaciousness by slowing down and grounding before diving into a particular piece of work. And we take the same amount of spaciousness to soothe and regulate the nervous system toward the end. The goal is that you leave with more insight and a grounded nervous system.
We don’t sit the whole time (unless you want to)! We set up your space so you can comfortably move your body, lay down, and shift position as needed. Pillows, blankets, comfort items, pets, plants ... all are welcome.
We go at the pace of your nervous system.

No! Weekly or biweekly sessions are absolutely effective for therapeutic goals. Think of intensives as a workshop, and a way to dig a little deeper and have a little more space to explore your inner world. For example, you might do a weekly yoga class, but when you do when you go to all-day yoga retreat, you get to go a little deeper and get more information in one sitting. Both are effective.

I use a tier system for my consultation fees to provide more equitable distribution of support.
Tier 1: $1,000 (Includes 1 prep session, 1 integration session, and the intensive).
Tier 1 is for folx who are in a position to give more because you have savings, additional family income support, investments, and other forms of financial security. This tier supports folx who need lower rates, ensuring greater access for everyone.Tier 2: $750 (Includes 1 prep session, 1 integration session, and the intensive):
This tier is for folx who are financially secure, with an income that allows you to pay for things beyond basic needs. This contribution helps keep services accessible to a wider community.
Tier 3: $625 (Includes 1 prep session, 1 integration session, and the intensive):
This tier is for folx who can cover their basic needs but have limited disposable income and have a tighter budget. -
