Consultation for therapists and coaches

Working with trans and gender expansive bodies, particularly in a political climate where these bodies are facing ongoing instances of transphobia and homophobia, requires sensitivity, knowledge, transparency, and collaboration.

As a trans therapist, I work with you to understand your practice, and collaborate on how to create a practice, and a praxis, that tends to and supports trans and gender expansive folx.

Some of the things I offer consultation on:

  • Creating a trauma-informed, collaborative intake process

  • Creating a consent-based, collaborative container for gender expansive and trans clients

  • Creating dialogue and supportive practices to tend to and understand gender euphoria, identity, and gender journeys

  • Helping clients navigate the gender affirming surgery process

  • Guidance on how to talk about gender dysphoria, dissociation, and how to collaborate with clients on navigating it when it shows up in therapy

  • Understanding how to protect the information and privacy of trans and gender expansive clients

  • Navigating self-of-therapist and countertransference with clients and tending to your own internal system of parts

My background and experience:

I am a trans, nonbinary therapist and specialize in working with trans, queer and gender expansive folx. My therapeutic specialties include: working with clients on navigating gender euphoria, dysphoria and dissociation; navigating gender affirming surgeries; relational, developmental and early attachment trauma; and supporting clients through the gender affirming surgery process.

I have formal training and ongoing consultation in relational somatic and mindfulness-based therapies (Relational Somatic Healing and Hakomi), IFS (Queer and Trans IFS Foundations with Sand Chang and Nic Wildes), and EFT (Core Skills). I have two master’s degrees in integral counseling psychology (California Institute of Integral Studies) and rehabilitation psychology (University of Wisconsin-Madison).

My therapeutic lenses and values are rooted in: Land back and repatriation of indigenous land; Black Lives Matter; trans rights are human rights; harm reduction; mutual and direct aid; poly, kink and sex positivity; disability justice; critical race theory; sex work is work; liberation psychology; and anti-carceral care.

My fees:

I use a tier system for my consultation fees to provide more equitable distribution of support.

Tier 1: $200 for 60 minutes. Tier 1 is for folx who are in a position to give more because you have savings, additional family income support, investments, and other forms of financial security. This tier supports folx who need lower rates, ensuring greater access for everyone.

Tier 2: $150 for 60 minutes. This tier is for folx who are financially secure, with an income that allows you to pay for things beyond basic needs. This contribution helps keep services accessible to a wider community.

Tier 3: $125 for 60 minutes. This tier is for folx who can cover their basic needs but have limited disposable income and have a tighter budget.

* I reserve two slots a month for clinicians who need a significantly lower sliding scale fee.
